They promised it last week, and it's finally here!
But the main item is still cutting the tax for the WEALTHY by 10%, and "hoping" that the middle class will chose to pay higher taxes that what they are asked to pay!

I am hoping that sooner or later Obama stops the so called "bi-partisan" BS because the Rethuglicans have no intentions what so ever of being bi partisan about ANYTHING.
They are simply using him to mess up what the democrats are trying to do.
The man has to be smarted than this.
He needs to bury the republican party.

Exactly correct. Now the massive debt that will lead to massive inflation is all on the Democrats. Obama couldn't even convince liberal Europe that it was the right thing to do.

I don't know! I guess it's hard to find negative posts to write about President Obama when the whole world is praising him and his lovely wife!
And I guess it's no fun if you're a Republican and you can't even find a decent spin to throw dirt at our President!
See, this is why we still need the Republicans! So we can debate and refute their ridiculous spin on things and general negativity!

I think the Republicans are looking more towards the 2010 elections than they are the current economic problems. If they were truly concerned about helping people, then they would TRY to work with Obama and the Congressional majority, but they are refusing. Nunyabiz is exactly correct that they have no intentions of being bipartisan.

The Republican opposition spokesperson seems to be John Boehner, who is not shy about combining golf junkets with "speaking engagements" and has admitted to being "cozy" with lobbyists while denying that they have any influence on him. Really. But common sense would tell you that fixing the economy, reforming health care, improving public education, and finishing the Iraq and Afghanistan thing means we all have to work together.

Derailing this effort - and keeping taxes on the wealthy from going up - seems to be the Republican strategy. I guess they are hoping that the voters will be too stupid to see their roadblocks (and the 26% that thought Bush did a good job will be).

Thank you for expressing what so many of us are coming to understand. It is so tiring sometime to continue to debate with people who seem deaf and dumb to any logic or truth except for their own illusions and propaganda.
It is even more difficult when one feels some connection and respect for one, and that respect and relationship is kicked aside by the obsessive need to hold on to a defunct ideology and to "protect" mindless, insensitive and revolting statements.
