First let me say this post is not intended to be derogatory.
African Americans have laid claim to slavery for over One hundred years.
Was it un just,un fair,un called for? Yes! It was a traumatic to say the least.
I think People Forget that Native American Indians were the First Slaves.We were called savage meaning a person of the woods.Our land was seized our villages burnt to the ground.Our women Raped and used For what ever their captives needed at the given moment.The children were killed if they were of no use for work.The Men were use to set up military camps. They were Shot if they fought or did not comply.Elders who were to old to do Work were killed.Entire family's were torn apart by the white man.We were not sold we were taken.We did not have huts to live in we died in the cold and extreme heat with out little to no shelter or food.We were worth nothing not even a fair trade for Food or horse.
I am so tired of middle America Playing up Black Slavery in yet never is their mention of Native Americans and the impact it had on our lives.We were a free people living off the land .People who took care and pride in nature and family.Then the white man comes ,Forms a Government and Depends on slaves to build this country. Native Americans And African Americans Are the true back bones Of America as we know it.!!!Yet Native American Indians are still the forgotten people.
