I agree with Scott, it is just a bunch of ugly crap said during a divorce battle.

Does not excuse what he said particularly but I can imagine there is probably more to it than meets the eye.
Like why was she recording this in the first place?

Sounds to me like she purposely got him all riled up as far we know this might have been the 10th call that day and we didn't hear the first 9 of her calling him everything in the book getting him all P Oed.

Also the man is clearly insane, he is a full blown Young Earth Creationist Fundamentalist nut bag, those types are volatile, misogynist with a serious screw loose.

you are right of course it isn't anyone's business but the people involved and now the authorities . However as we have commented on it and expressed it here I find yours more then a little dated . Firstly I suspect she made those recording to protect herself , she had already been punched and had her teeth knocked out and I suspect it isn't her first time having her life threatened . Secondly to the sane mind it shouldn't matter how she " provoked " him , to physically abuse and threaten her they're just isn't any justifiable excuse . The language used by this nut goes to the fiber of the man , a bigot and a chauvinist pig .

I would like to know why you consider these women " b's " ? , because they offered an opinion ? They should just not open their mouths at all , they might accidently " provoke " or " rile " some man .

I suspect that Mel's problems don't stem from a bad divorce, but from a rough up bringing, he either witnessed abuse or experienced it in his youth. It doesn't excuse his behavior, but it does explain some of it. As far as it not being anybody's busness..ABUSE IS EVERYBODIES BUSNESS! Why stop with a famous person? Why would you ignor somebody elses misery and stand by to let the cycle go on. If my neighbors had called about the abuse I was experiencing from my common-law, I might have been able to do something more concrete before he threatened my son (our child) to kill me. I wouldn't have had to put him through the bs we went through. If I had more proof and it not boiling down to my word against his.

Women are usually natural born forgivers. Somehow we never learn with the first blow, or emotional attack. We stay, we forgive, we love.We hope he will change.We have babies to be closer or to connect. Sad thing is I am sure she saw this kind of behavior early on and didn't move on. Anger like that is not just a one time deal. Women need to empower themselves to know when it is time to go and not rely on others "to save" them. He is enraged for a reason. It may certainly not be her fault I would guess this kind of anger comes from somewhere else and he needs to find the answers to his own anger. But she as an adult and mother should have moved on long ago I suspect it money she is after and not medical help for the father of her child

So true. The news has a way of being one sided. M.Gibson needs to figure out why he has lost his way. His child is a baby girl I believe. (not sure) but if so he is truly in more trouble than he can reolise now. She will grow to be a woman and seeing and hearing this kind of abuse will only draw her to what she knows as NORMAL! Sad but true.

You are right , that kind of rage has to owe something to some kind of brainwashing early on , though you would think that with life experience and working with many minorities and woman over the years , this kind of indoctrination would have been subsided or been dispelled .

It's like if a parent slaps their child there is no chance for the child but to learn any attention is better than no attention. For a man to strike out at a woman because she has made him angry is the same thing. He is living what he learned and chooses not to change it because he see's nothing wrong with it! Yet if the same man was standing in front of someone twice his size and strength he would hesitate to strike. Maybe like his own Mother had to hesitate to strike. I believe women would strike back but they are just not powerful enough,if we were, there would be alot less battering going on.
