Thread: Enough, already!

  1. Exclamation Enough, already!

Certainly, Ted Kennedy was an American Icon...statesman and politician. We extend our heartfelt sympathies to the family. However, in my opinion, it is seriously redundant to dedicate the entire GMA program to his memory. There are other world events that we would much rather follow. We had to change channels in order to be informed of the real news of the morning.

The MJ coverage was much worse, but then, it's all money, ask MJ's family, and AIG, and everyone else that shoved the MJ crap down our throats for weeks,, when really, I believe that Sen Kennedy deserves more attention than MJ, he's done much more for Amereica.

I totally agree with you, Raimund! But the difference is that MJ's family wants more and more publicity to sell more and more videos and DVD's
While the Kennedy family just wants to honor their patriarch and give all the people who appreciated him, loved him, and respected him a chance to do the same.
I'm sure that the "media" hommage to Ted Kennedy will be over by at the latest Sunday. The "media" frenezy around MJ's passing has been going on for two months now!!!
    Enough is enough!

I don't get why you disparage MJ's family by saying they want to make money. If his estate continues to generate money, and I am sure it will, who other than his family should benefit from that? I'm sure Elvis's family benefits from his estate which I'm sure continues to generate quite a lot of money. According to MJ's will, his mother and his children will get most of the money and the rest goes to charity.

The media continues to cover the developments in the MJ story because people are interested in what happend and want to know why he died and if anyone will be held responsible. I don't watch much of the coverage of the case because I 'm not interested in hearing people speculate about what they think will happen next.

Ted Kennedy's death is getting the coverage he deserves and there is no need in my opinion to compare the two because it would be like comparing apples and oranges. Ted Kennedy was 77 years old and had terminal cancer. MJ was 50 and died unexpectedly under strange circumstances which helped to fuel the media attention. Both men were loved and admired by millions of people. Both did good things for humanity and both made mistakes in their lives. It is possible to mourn the loss of both without denigrating either of them.

in my case the disdain is intended for the media, I still think, and will always think , Michael Jackson has been blown WAY out of proportion, i think they are almost forcing folks to stay involved by FORCING them almost to relive the same news about it, day after day after day,
